The history of Marshalswick Baptist Free Church begins long before the Marshalswick estate was built or even thought of.  The present church was opened in 1968 and was formed from the amalgamation of Tabernacle Baptist Church and Marshalswick Free Church group which had been meeting in local schools.

Tabernacle Baptist Church was compulsory purchased by St Albans Council as it was in the area of the then named Chequer Street re-development (now known as The Maltings).  The building still survives and has housed a dancing school for about the last 30 years

Througout these pages there are navigation buttons which will take you where you want to go.

Important as the buildings are the real story is of the true church, the people who with God's guidance made it happen.  In the Baptist church we ask some to lead us and be ministers.  There are pictures of some of who have served our community if you follow this link.
