ImageBox image rules
Although the pictures for ImageBox are all images we have created we do have to be mindful of copyright law, data protection and safeguarding. The following tips will help:
- Please don’t copy someone else’s art or photo without permission and pass it off as your own (plagiarism)
- If you use a bible quotation from an in copyright source then please acknowledge as stated in the source. E.g. My NIV says you can use one verse and you put (NIV) at the end of the verse i.e. John 12: 46 (NIV)
- Photos must be your own work. Note that photos of other people’s art will need permission before we can use them online e.g. exhibitions such as Threads of Revelation, light installations. Usually people are fine about this if acknowledged correctly.
- Any images used from the internet as part of you artwork should be creative commons or with permission and acknowledged as such
- Photos containing people must have consent to go online from all parties in the photo. Note that current church policy allows photos of children on the website, but not on social media i.e. Facebook and YouTube.
