Marshalswick Baptist Free Church

Sunday Services

Communion is usually celebrated on the first Sunday evening and the third Sunday morning of the month. Occasionally communion is moved as we have a special service on the same date.

Services are led by our minister Rev Graham Clarke and other church members or guest preachers from time to time as shown on our preaching plan.

On the five Sunday Evenings in Lent we are pleased to host the Churches Together In Marshalswick series of Lent services with Guest speakers from different traditions.

What to expect

You will be warmly welcomed to any of our services.

Sunday morning

Family Praise at 10.15am on Sunday morning has a congregation of 60-90 of all ages from 0-90.

The first half of the service is family friendly, often including times of participation by children and families. School age children go to Sunday Club partway through the service to take part in age related activities, including bible stories, games and discussions. A creche for preschool age children is available throughout the service. 'Happy Bags' containing items  to keep small people entertained are available at the back of the church.

A typical service is about an hour and a quarter long, including worship songs, traditional hymns, prayers, bible readings and a sermon.  If you want to hear an example of a sermon please visit our podcasts page. Song and hymn words are shown on large screens but hymn books are also available.

After the service refreshments are served and we have a time to chat with each other while the children play.

Dress is informal, wear whatever you feel comfortable coming to church in - you can wear a suit or you can come in your jeans and a T-shirt! All welcome.

Sunday Evening

Evening Worship at 7pm is a quieter and reflective service attended by a smaller congregation of adults. The service lasts for about an hour.  On the fifth Sunday of the month we have a joint service with Dagnall Street Baptist Church, the venue alternating between the churches.

Accessibility

We have a hearing loop in the worship area for those with hearing difficulties.
Ramped access is available via the side door of our church.
